Guidance on Notification of Water Meter Index

Time for recording and reading of index on water meters: After a month of use (recording once a month), the date of recording is mentioned on the bill; The index are directly read on the water meter. If the customers are absent from home, the staff shall record and send the notice to the customers: The customers may notify the water index by telephone.

a/ The monthly date of index recording at the customer’s address are printed on the water bill and water notice as per the specified sequence, the average cycle is usually 30 days/term. The customers shall facilitate the staff to access to the water meter, as well as the customers can monitor and compare the available index on the water meter and the latest index written on the record (as recorded by the staff of Dong Nai Water JSC.,).

b/ In case the customers are not at home or any obstacle for recording the water index, the staff shall send the notice to the customers and make an appointment to come back for recording the index, or the
customers may notify the water index by the following ways:

- The customers can write down the water index on the door.
- The customers can notify the water index via the telephone number: 061 3941897.
- The customers can come to the Company’s head office or Sales Stations to notify the water index.
- The customers can ask some people to open the door for the staff to record the water index.

c/ Some popular ways of readings of the index on the water meter at the present:

- If the red number on the water meter shows the unit of liter, the customers reads all the black numbers from left to right which show the unit of m3 (don’t read the red number).
- If there is not number which show the unit of litter on the water meter (there is not red number), the customer read all the black numbers from left to right which show the unit of m3

d/ In case the staff couldn’t access the water meter, as well as there is not any feedback from the customers, the Company will estimate the water consumption index by the interpolation method (the average of the stable water index on three latest bills). The new index will not be shown on the bill; it just shows the average consumption index.

e/ The average calculation applied due to not recording the water index will not prolong over 02 consecutive billing cycles. The customers must facilitate the staff to access to the water meter every month. The customers shall be responsible for the water index as notified.

g/ If the customers don’t need to use water in a given time, DOWACO should be notified to jointly agree the calculation of the monthly water consumption amount or the water supply will be temporarily suspended in accordance with the regulations of DOWACO.

h/ In case the customers didn’t facilitate the staff to record the water index over 02 consecutive billing cycles, the Company will send the contract for water supply to the address mentioned on the bill for notification. After the deadline, if the customers still doesn’t facilitate the staff to record the water index. It means that the customers have violated the contract; we reluctantly suspend to supply water.

i / In case the customers have the high water consumption index, DOWACO can record the water index one, two and three times per month.
