Development And Establishment History

In 1903, Ghenh bridge which connected Bien Hoa-Sai Gon train route was constructed and completed by French colonialist. In the provincial city of Bien Hoa, some ruling agencies under French colonialist such as Toa Bo, Telegram Station, Thanh Ken were established. Thus, French authorities installed blockhouse of generator and drilled some wells for the purpose of power and water supply for agencies and military camps and some pipelines were extended to supply water for local people and merchants around Bien Hoa market in 1920-1921.

- 1928-1930, Bien Hoa Water Treatment Plant was designed and constructed by the French with the capacity of 1,450m3/day. In 1967, additional treatment unit with capacity of 15,000m3/day funded by the aid agency under Australian government was constructed and increased capacity to 16,500m3/day. After liberation day of the South, the capacity of the plant was increased to 22,000m3/day in 1987. To increase water supply amount, the capacity of the plant was increased from 22,000m3/day to 36,000m3/day to supply treated water to Bien Hoa people.

Accerlators & Greenleaf Filter Basin– Bien Hoa Water Treatment Plant – capacity of 36,000 m3/day

- To meet the water demand of developing industrial zones such as Bien Hoa II, AMATA, Lotecco and Ho Nai 3, Long Binh Water Plant was constructed  and completed in April 1998 (phase I) with capacity of 15,000m3/day and (Phase II) with the total capacity of 30,000 m3/day in 2002.

Long Binh Water Treatment Plant – capacity 30,000 m3/day

- Due to rapid increase of Bien Hoa urban population and industrial zones resulting in water demand increase, the Company invested in construction of Thien Tan Water Treatment Plant (phase I) with capacity of 100,000 m3/day funded by ODA loan from Korean Government and Vietnamese counterpart fund, the Plant was officially put into operation on May 18, 2004.

Thien Tan Water Treatment Plant (phase 1) - Capacity of 100,000m3/day

- Nhon Trach Water Treatment Plant (phase I) with capacity of 100,000 m3/day using ODA fund from Japanese Government and Vietnamese counterpart fund, the Plant was officially put into operation on March 28, 2014.
 
In addition, there are also water supply projects invested at urban centre of districts as follows:
+ Vinh An Water Treatment Plant phase 1 with capacity of 2,000m3/day was completed and put into use in 2002.
+ Gia Ray Water Treatment Plant with capacity of 2,400 m3/day.
+ Tam-Hung-Hoa Water Treatment Plant with capacity of 3,000 m3/day.
+ Long Khanh Water Treatment Plant: in1987, the plant was expanded and the capacity was increased from 2,700 m3/day to 3,300 m3/day and to 7,500 m3/day in 2000.
+ Nhon Trach Underground Water Plant was invested and constructed in 1998 with capacity of 5.000 m3/day (phase 1), with capacity of 10,000m3/day by 2000. Currently, the Plant is being operated with the capacity of 20,000 m3/day.
+ Dinh Quan Water Treatment Plant with capacity of 4,200m3/day.
+ Tan Phu Water Treatment Plant with capacity of 2,500 m3/day.
 
* Thus, total capacity of the Company by 2015 is 300,000m3/day.
- The Company is conducting bidding process for construction and supply of Thien Tan Water Plant (phase II) with capacity of 100,000 m3/day funded by Korean ODA loan and counterpart fund of Vietnamese Government.
 
* Objective of water supply by 2020 is to meet industrial and domestic demands of the Province of 1,000,000 m3/day.

+ The Company is calling investment for projects as follows:
  • Nhon Trach Water Supply Project (phase 2) with capacity of 100,000 m3/day.
  • Water Supply Project of Vinh Cuu district with capacity of 15,000 m3/day.
  • Ho Cau Moi Water Supply Project with capacity of 60,000 m3/day.
  • Gia Tan Water Supply Project with capacity of 100,000 m3/day.
* With achievement results over many years, the Company is ranked the 3rd nationwide regarding water supply capacity.

+ The State President awarded:
- Labor medal grade III to all employees of Dong Nai Water Supply Construction Co., Ltd for their excellent performance in work from 1992-1996 contributing to the cause of construction of socialism and motherland defence.
- Labor medal grade II to all employees of Dong Nai Water Supply Construction Co., Ltd for their excellent performance in work from 2001-2005 contributing to the cause of construction of socialism and motherland defence.
Dong Nai People’s Committee held the ceremony to honor distinctive enterprises and outstanding businessmen in 2005. The Company had been awarded many merit certificates by local and central authorities.
